We stayed in a ...

We stayed in a suite and it was a great fit for our family of 5 + dog (parents plus 16, 18, 20-year olds). The two queen beds were in their own bedroom, with a sleeper sofa in the main living area. We also had a kitchen complete with dishwasher! Laundry was complimentary and other property amenities were clean. I wish all hotels were as nice as this one.

To the General Manager ...

To the General Manager of the Staybridge Suites in Columbia Early this month, my wife and I had family business to attend to in Columbia I have been a Platinum Elite IHG One Rewards member for years, and I was utilizing some points to cover this stay....even though it was a five night stay. While making the reservation online with reward points, there was not an option to choose a handicapped room. My wife is heavily dependent on a walker and bathroom handrails, but often she can make-do with a regular room/bathroom if there are sufficient handholds and things to grab onto.....unfortunately.....the room we were originally assigned to was not going to work....especially for five nights. That's when Susan jumped in. There were no handicapped rooms available, so she scoured the property and found another room in a different config that she showed me....that was not a huge improvement in layout/accessibility. She stayed late the next morning and coordinated with the day manager (who was equally helpful) to look for a handicapped room for the remainder of our stay....and by 9:00 am the day manager had found one!! I moved our luggage and stuff to the handicapped room early Monday afternoon and that worked wonderfully for my wife and I for the remainder of the stay. The next morning, Susan tracked me down in the breakfast area and wanted to make sure everything was working well in the new room for my wife and me. Oftentimes, people utilizing points for rewards nights are almost frowned upon as second class guests. I am a million point plus member in several programs. Everybody does it. Not in this case. Susan was a great example of what Customer Service should look like when went above and beyond to take care of my wife and me the night we checked in, and followed up the next morning to make sure the room request did not get lost in the shift shuffle, AND she tracked me down to make sure we were satisfied with the new room the next day. Customer Service is a dying skill set. It feels good to recognize vibrant examples of it today.

I stayed at this ...

I stayed at this hotel due to price and location. I had stayed at other hotels close by and enjoyed them but their prices are way higher. What I enjoy the most is the room is very spacious, comfortable bed and having a kitchenette is so convenient when traveling. I’ve stayed here multiple times by myself and with my family and have always had great customer service. The front desk staff and managers are very friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome. The breakfast is really good too, especially the biscuits and gravy are a must have! My family will definitely be staying here again and try other Staybridge hotels when we travel.
